About the Event

Join us for our fifth annual Over the Edge event on June 6, 2020! We will allow 100 individuals to rappel 155 feet down Midtown Towers in Watertown to raise money for NNY nonprofit agencies!

The money you raise goes to create grants for NNY human service nonprofits, such as Watertown Urban Mission, Salvation Army, Credo, the Watertown Family Y and many more.

All Edgers will be given a registration time approximately one hour before rappel time. Edgers MUST wear tennis or hiking shoes. No sandals!

All equipment is provided and you will be given training on the roof before your rappel. A commemorative shirt will be provided.

Registration is $50, which is included in your minimum fundraising requirement. When you register you will create an Edger page that you can email or put on social media pages so family and friends can support you. Make sure to include a picture AND a story about why going Over the Edge is important to you.

Rappel times will be determined by the order in which each Edger and team meet their fundraising requirements.

The cost to participate:

·       "Edgers" must set a goal of a minimum of $1,000. However, once they raise $750 they will be able to go Over the Edge.

·        The first four high school-aged students who sign up will be eligible to rappel for a discounted rate. Students the must set a $1,000 goal but will be allowed to participate once they reach $500. Participants must be at least 14 years old, weigh more than 100 lbs., and have their parent/guardian present on event day.

·        We will allow up to 10 teams of four Edgers each to rappel. Each Edger must register individually and then join a team. Each Edger on a team must set a goal of $1,000 and raise a minimum of $500 to participate. If more than 10 teams are created, the first 10 teams to reach their cumulative goal of $2,000 will be recognized. Other teams can be formed but each member must raise a minimum of $750 each. The members of each team will be allowed to rappel two at a time back-to-back.
